The L-Bonian invasion of Switzerland has been completed without incident. All combatants have achieved the primary objective - get there, drink a lot and don't lose you're wallet.

The final mission directive - get home safely - has currently achieved a 60% success rate. We're just waiting for Bill and JVS to get back. With the current high winds and the fact that they're on motorbikes still begs the question "Will we have a 100% mission completion?". Only time will tell.

The builders came yesterday to take the old concrete floor in the lounge up to see if there were any leaks from the central heating pipes (see "The house is like a building site" and "The continuing floor saga."). As I expected, they found nothing. No damp patches in the concrete - except when Steve put the Kango hammer-drill through on of the radiator pipes They're just finishing laying the new screed now.

So, I slept on the sofa in the dining room with all the dust and the smell of the tar they sealed the concrete sub-floor with. Needless to say it wasn't a great nights sleep and this morning my nose is all clogged up - probably from the dust yesterday.

The wife and kids have been staying the Dragon's (oops sorry, the Mother-In-Laws) house and will be there until Sunday when the screed has dried and set.

Me, I'm off to Lausanne this afternoon for the L-Bonian Congress Meeting! See everyone in the bar later this evening.

For those of you who don't know (and there can't be many of you left) every few months there is a meeting of the L-Bonian council. This is a body that was created in 2002 (and please someone, correct me if I'm wrong) by a bunch of Domino consultants to further diplomatic relations with other nations around the world and to give a cash injection to the local economy (specifically to the brewing industry).

There have already been a number of events in Strasbourg, Brussels and Den Haag (The Hague for the uninitiated) and now we're moving our (Lotus)sphere of introduction, outside of the EU to Switzerland.

The event is being held over the LONG weekend of Friday 17th to Sunday 19th of September 2004 in Lausanne, Switzerland. More information regarding the congress can be found at the Diplomacy Delegate's web site.

The time for our next meeting is well overdue. The suggested next venue is Gland in Switzerland (one of the first 3 weekends in August) so that we can congratulate Paul R on his escape from the EU. Watch for more details on Bill's site.
